Raph sketch page update+1


Decided to keep expanding on these sketches. I use to always feel pressured to just go fast go fast. And being fast I think is good but also spending time and expanding on an idea is also great too and adds more value. ... So that's what I'm trying to do.

Next scene. I'm trying to figure out some good transition from one shot to the other. I want to be spot on but I'm going to just do what I can and have some good people check it and tell me what they think. Then I can fix it later. Got to be efficient and smart this time around.  Here are some shots from the next scene. Splinter is secluded in his room making tea but then will be interrupted by Mikey slamming the front door. This causes Splinter to burn himself from the tea and he gets a bit upset. Then we will transition to the next room where Mikey will pester Raph and try and show him what he found. The thing is is that Mikey slamming the door is of screen so visually I've been pondering how to show this correctly with splinter and where the camera should be. ... Yeah been pondering this for days. Oh well I'll do my best and ask for help soon after.

fulfilling my childhood pt2

So I realized something. I'm actually like Raph and I need to kind of change up. What I mean by this is that I like to go on things all alone and try and come out victorious as a master. With many projects I've done this and most of the time these projects don't quite reach there potential because I'm the only one working on it. But like Raph he always succeeds when he works as a team with his trusted brothers. So what I decided to do with much thought and smooth praying is finish what I can today for the entire sequence and not over work myself for such little gain. I then will ask trusted commrads and hopefully a new Mentor if they can check and give good advice. This sounds so smart!! And it's better than getting beat up on April's roof and being out of the movie till the last scenes ... from the first TMNT movie ...
But yeah it's time to progress! And I'm Due for it!! K

fulfilling childhood dream pt1

I'm realizing how much I'm fulfilling a childhood dream by busting this project. the first things I could remember drawing when I was a kid was ninja turtles. I loved these guys way too much! And now I can actually draw them just a little bit better lol. So yeah it's time to just vibe and let the kid explode in me!! By the way Raph was my favorite turtle! I guessed I liked his attack type rage spirit and I always felt that he had to work the hardest because of his sai's. And I wanted to be a hard worker too and ready to attack. Shoot I still do!


these are just some warm up drawings for Raph. Did some tracing from some screen shots to just get a quick feel of the 2012 version of Raph. And then moved on to these quick sketches after the traces. ... maybe not spot on but close enough to feel that this is Raph and that I can produce him quickly. Ok back to boards.

New Adventure

Here I will be journal ling this quick adventure of putting together a new storyboard portfolio together. Looking to work at Nickelodeon and I want to put something together that will get there attention and possibly other studios. It's time to show these people what I can do. ... It's time to show myself what I can do. Ok lets go.

So I have the idea for the Act and have thumbed some scenes. What I'm doing now is getting me feet wet all around. I'm laying out my files and setting up my work station (program) to see what works best and gives me room to be as free as possible and able to capture the shot the way I want. Playing with quick bg layouts and then rendering them and seeing how long it takes. Putting the characters and making sure that the composting is right and reads quickly. And I'm still open to changes and ideas that I've already jotted down. Basically nothings final till the final so in my mind I'm willing to erase and throw out things in a second and move on to something better. So yeah here are some things I'm talking about.
